Chris Dougan is the President and Founder of ABRADIE as well as the Chief Communications Officer of Genius Sports, with responsibility for developing and implementing the global corporate communication and public affairs strategy.
Chris spent his early career at MGM Studios before moving into ballot measures and issue advocacy work. For over fifteen years, Chris has specialised in managing integrated public affairs, strategic communications and issue advocacy campaigns on behalf of highly regulated sectors. He has planned and executed multiple campaigns across the US, EU, and EMEA region on behalf of national governments, institutions, and multinational corporations such as Coca-Cola, Diageo, and Unilever.
Since joining Genius Sports in 2015, Chris has driven stakeholder engagement efforts and leads the US advocacy programme by providing senior counsel to C-suite executives, opinion leaders, regulators and politicians. Outside the US, Chris has helped extend Genius Sports’ reach into emerging markets by leading the debate on regulation and positioning the organisation at the forefront of sports betting policy initiatives.
Martin Lycka is a Founder of ABRADIE and the SVP for American Regulatory Affairs and Responsible Gambling at Entain, overseeing growth of the business across both new U.S. states and into other parts of the Americas, notably LATAM and Canada. In this capacity, he also oversees global esports related regulatory matters for Entain. He joined the business in April 2018, as Director of Regulatory Affairs.
Martin also serves on the boards of the Entain Foundation, the Entain Foundation US and the American Gaming Association as well as the Advisory Boards to the National Council on Problem Gambling, Seton Hall Law School Gambling Compliance program, My Wager Score and Kindbridge. In the past, Martin has been a board member of the European Gaming and Betting Association, JDigital and the European Sports Security Association.
In total, Martin has been a senior legal, regulatory and RG advisor to listed gambling businesses for over 13 years. Previously, Martin worked amongst others with Salans Europe LLP, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Senate of the Czech Republic.
He obtained law degrees from the Charles University, Prague, the College of Europe, Bruges, and the University of Law, London, qualifying as UK solicitor.
Rafael Marchetti Marcondes is the Director of Government Affairs & Founder of ABRADIE and the Chief Legal Officer of Rei do Pitaco.
Professor in Sports and Entertainment Law, with a PhD from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica of São Paulo (PUC/SP) and masters related to sports (ISDE/Barcelona) and betting (Ohio University) industries.
Rafael Marchetti Marcondes has over 20 years of experience in the legal area, working for Brazilian top ranked law firm (Pinheiro Neto Advogados) before joining Rei do Pitaco – Brazil’s leading Daily Fantasy Sport company – in which is currently Chief Legal Officer, being in charge of legal, regulatory and compliance areas.
President of the Brazilian Association of Fantasy Sports (ABFS), is also Legal Director of the Brazilian Institute of Responsible Gaming (IBJR) and cofounder and Director of Government Affairs of the Brazilian Association in Defense of Sports Integrity (ABRADIE), having an extensive understanding of the regulation, besides the market dynamics of the betting and gaming industry in Brazil.
Marcos Motta is a Founder of ABRADIE and Founding partner of Bichara and Motta Advogados. Marcos obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Business Law, a Master’s (LL.M) in International Economic Law from the University of Warwick (England), a master’s degree Honoris Causa in International Sports Law from the Superior Institute de Derecho y Economia-ISDE (Spain) and holds a Certificate of Negotiation and Leadership from Harvard Law School.
Marcos Motta has been active in the sports market since 1997 when he started as Director and International Representative for C.R. Flamengo. Since then, he has acted as a legal adviser in hundreds of cases and arbitrations before national and international courts involving different issues, such as contractual, commercial, disciplinary, and regulatory disputes, representing players, agents, clubs and governing bodies.
Marcos Motta provided legal advice on some of the largest commercial deals in the global sports market. He participated in the Brazilian Government working group to review the “Pelé Law” in 2008 of the FIFA Working Group to regulate the ” TPO “. He was a member of the Legal Committee of the Brazilian Federal Senate in charge of preparing the draft of the General Law of the Brazilian Sport.
In the academic field, he is a professor of several masters and a visiting lecturer in the most renowned educational institutions in Brazil, Europe and the United States, including the FIFA Programme in Football Agency FIFA Diploma in Club Management ISDE and Escuela Universitaria Real Madrid, always in sports-related subjects and entertainment. He is a member of REX Sports and the Executive Committee of the Association Internationale des Avocats du Football-AIAF.
Marcos Motta has been nominated yearly since 2014 by the renowned “Chambers & Partners”; “Leaders League” “Who’s Who Legal” publications as one of the world’s leading sports and entertainment lawyers and has been named a “Thought Leader” by WWL
Luiz Felipe Maia is one of the founding partners and the head of the Technology and Gaming Area at Maia Yoshiyasu Advogados (“MYLaw”).
Maia is a frequent speaker at international gaming events and was awarded the Corporate Livewire Excellence Gaming Awards 2016 and recognized as one the Top100 lawyers in Brazil by Lawyer Monthly in 2018, being the only Brazilian gaming attorney to receive such award.
Maia was also recognized as Lawyer of the Year in Brazil for Gaming from 2019 to 2023 by Corporate INTL and by Global Legal Experts. Maia was awarded the ICE Landmark Award in 2022 as recognition as the Best Gaming Lawyer in Brazil.
Sérgio Barbosa Domenici is a Member of ABRADIE and business administrator and specialist in sports management, event promotions and leisure. He has been the CEO of Liga Nacional de Basquete since its founding in 2008 and has more than 25 years of experience in the sports segment. Sports Manager of the Year by Sou do Esporte in 2018.
